Where are you based?We are based in Greater Manchester, but work remotely with companies all over the UK!

Do you offer free initial consultations?Yes we do! We offer this to get to know one and other and decide whether we are the best bookkeepers to suit your requirements!

What is MTD?Making Tax Digital is a system put in place by HMRC to reform and modernise the tax system in the UK. This mean that all businesses and sole traders will need to digitalise their records and submit returns using an MTD compatible software. See our video for more information!

Do I need an accountancy software?Yes! With the new making tax digital legislation, a MTD compatible software is essential to your business' accounting and we believe is the most efficient, reliable and sustainable method of running your business' finances.

Which accountancy software do you use?We use Xero and Kashflow for our clients dependant on circumstance. After an initial consultation we will ensure you are using the best software for your requirements. We are Xero and Kashflow certified.

How do I get set up on an accountancy software?We can do this for you so don't worry about it!

What happens if I am using already using an alternative software to Xero or Kashflow?If you are currently using an alternative accounting software, please let us know and if we are able to take over this, we will do. Alternatively, if you are interested in migrating your accounts to one of our more preferable software options then we can do that for you at a small one off fee!

How much do your packages cost?As we are not selling a fixed service, we do not advertise pricing on our website. The price of your package needs to be tailored and individualised to you and your business requirements. We need to ensure all aspects are covered and most importantly that you aren't paying for a service you don't need!

Are there any set up costs?We charge a one off set up fee depending on whether you are are a new business start up or an established business migrating your accounts.

What happens if we decide I am in the wrong package or my business grows?After 3 months of carrying out your accounts we will have more knowledge of your business and its financial requirements. At this point we will have a review meeting to make sure you are happy with the service and package we have provided so far. If we need to upgrade or downgrade the package slightly to ensure it is the most cost effective for your business then we will do!

I haven't completed my accounts for this financial year, is this a problem?Don't worry, we can provide a catch-up service at a one-off fee.

How do I get started?Contact us today! We will send you our short initial questionnaire to give us some essential background information. Following this we will arrange a call via Zoom or Teams to chat more and begin building your perfect package.

Do you offer payroll services?Unfortunately Hippocrene currently doesn't offer any payroll services and it is not included in any of our packages.

Do I still need an accountant?Sole traders and partnerships will not require an accountant as we will submit your Self Assessment for you on your behalf. Limited companies will still require an accountant to submit your Year End Accounts to HMRC.
